The alternative to disposable pads and tampons. Menstrual cups are so good, its life changing.
I started by journey using pads like everyone else and constantly worried about whether I stained my school uniform whenever i stood up (that gushing feeling... I'm sure you know what I'm talking about). Not long after, I switched to using tampons. They were much better but so very expensive and difficult to use especially on low-flow days.
When I came across menstrual cups, I knew and was very determined to make the switch. Lo and behold... its now 6 years into my menstrual cup journey and I love it. I'm a huge advocate so let me tell you more.
Each pad is made out of about 90% plastic and contain as much as four supermarket bags. Tampons are no better and we all heard of the possibility of toxic shock syndrome. They both come individually wrapped with plastic wrappings and are single-use. The average woman is estimated to use and throw away more than 10,000 of these in her menstrual lifetime. Don’t even get me started on pesticides found in cotton and the amount of water used in its production - not as eco-friendly as most of us think.
Introducing the Love, Period. Menstrual Cup.
Made with medical grade silicone which is safe for your body, each cup will last up to 10 years. Calculating yet? Even if you change a cup every year, you are still saving money! #wallet-friendly I have not bought a pad, tampon or liner in years!
1 single menstrual cup = years of single-use menstrual products = save money
Since menstrual cups collect (and not absorb) menstrual fluids, you stay comfortable and dry. They can be worn up to 12 hours depending on your flow; while you sleep, swim, dive, and even during yoga. Best of all, you don't feel a thing! No stuffy pads, no odour, no strings and no toxic shock syndrome.
Your body, wallet and Mother Earth thanks you for it. Do your part for the environment by reducing your period waste. Have a happier, healthier period. Love, Period.

LOVE, PERIOD. Menstrual Cup
Don't sweat it! It may take some time to get comfortable with the process. Give yourself time to practice.
- Our preferred folds -
Punch down fold, 7-fold, C-fold
- Inserting -
Fold cup into preferred shape. Push cup in a scooping motion, into vagina. Once inside, the cup will open & create an airtight seal to collect blood. Run your finger around the side of the cup to check & gently push it up if its too low. Now you are good to go!
-Removing -
Feel for the base of the cup and pinch to release the suction. Slowly pull it out, keeping the cup level. Dump the contents into the toilet, wash the cup and reinsert. Hold on to the stem & squeeze your muscles to help push the cup down, giving you a better grip on the cup base.
- Cup Care -
Boil your cup before and after use for 5min to disinfect. In between uses, just rinse with water. Use unscented soap if you prefer.
Tips: Trim the stem if you need! Remove a little at a time until its comfortable. If the cup isn't creating a good seal, it may leak even if its less than half full. Try a different fold or position when inserting.
